Does the team need more motivation for UT?

What a piece of crap. Both the article and Bruce Pearl.

What makes this guy even more slimy is that back in the 89 when an Iowa asst. coach this scum back accused a fellow coach at the U of Illinois of cheating. He went so far as to follow the recruit in question around, and submit a letter to the NCAA. He also, in the letter opined on other U of Illinois recruits who also chose not to attend Iowa.

This scum bag illegally taped the recruit who at the time was a teenager under 18. The kid subsequently took a lie detector test which he passed.

"Also, The NCAA did not find Illinois guilty of any wrongdoing relating to Thomas' recruitment, finding that the proof provided was not "credible, persuasive and of a kind on which reasonably prudent persons rely in the conduct of serious affairs."[3]

At the end of the day the U of Illinois may have been guilty of something but not with this kid. Pearl was just a pissed off scum bag who threw dirt because he could not get a recruit to sign.

Now this. I guess it true "it takes one to know one".

As to UT no integrity. This guy knowingly cheats, and only gets a slap on the risk. Remember this is the same school that Hired Lane Kiffin. It appears UT will stand behind you if you win. (See coach Fulmer) If not well . . .

Go Rams!

in the article Pearl states that in effect the SEC suspension will not matter. No big deal, the structure of the suspension is such that he is so great he just winds them up and let's them play. So if the suspension isn't effective why bother?
I hope the NCAA sees this comments in the same light and decides this guy needs a dose of humility
Starting not to like this guy

Well, I don't know if it was changed or not, but the last sentence in the article that opened when I clicked your link was
After playing VCU on Wednesday, the Volunteers (3-0) will play either Villanova or UCLA on Friday in New York.

Me and one other poster saw it and posted someting before it was changed.

From a former colleague of mine that is a UT professor asking me if I would root for UT when they played KU.

Are you going to root for the toothless, cousin-marrying, moonshine-
drinkin', tabaccer-spittin', hounddog-loving, banjo-pickin' Vols?

Yes, because after we rout Tennessee, then using the associative property we would beat UK as well.

I trust that Coach Smart and the squad know its a challenge, but one to really relish and look forward to. I feel our coaching staff is "chomping at the bit" to play as many big/ranked teams as possible, and we've got more than a full line-ups worth of players that seem quite fearless. What I love about this season so far, is that we've got people from the bottom up in our program that are HUNGRY. From Rob Brandenberg to J-Rod, Daniel Roose to Shaka Smart to Norwood Teague, these guys are ambitious and seem to have developed an insane amount of loyalty over the relatively short times they've been here.

So no, I wouldn't say we need anymore motivation. I think its gonna be a bit easy to lose focus and maybe get a bit anxious or nervy though. We're chock full of guys that simply can't play without their heart, they go all out non-stop. On a perfect day everyone shows up 100% ready to play, but if it doesn't happen we'll always have a handful of guys who can step-in and inspire everyone else. Some do it by example, some have some good advice, and some have both the advice and the game-changing plays. I'm sure we'll see some nerviness out there at times, but I've got all the faith in the world that we'll be ready to play our hearts out. Win or lose, the Vols aren't going to remember their trip to NYC as an easy stroll through the garden

Screw that. We're beating those cheating bastards by 20.

And David Hinton will get to dunk on a MSG rim like his name is Willis Reed at the end of the game.

I know one thing that wont happen. ;)

GO RAMS!
Beat Volunteers!!

It's hard to feel too confident right now...UT is clearly the best team we have faced so far. UNCG, Winthrop and WF were all pretty weak. Hoping the guys keep it close and have a chance down the stretch.

I think this game will be decided down the stretch too. With all the offensive weapons we have it ought to be decided by whomever is open and has the hot hand.
