RAMS DISMANTLE ACC FOE WAKE FOREST, 90-69, TO REACH PRESEASON NIT FINAL FOUR

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – With just over a minute left, senior Jamie Skeen was subbed out and as he left the court, he let out a loud scream. This game was not your ordinary game for Skeen, a transfer from Wake Forest who joined the Virginia Commonwealth University men's basketball program two years ago.

Skeen and his teammates executed their "Wreak HAVOC" style of play almost to perfection and dismantled ACC foe, Wake Forest, 90-69, to advance to the 2010 Dick's Sporting Goods NIT Season Tip-Off Final Four next week at Madison Square Garden.

"I was definitely more hyped, but it was really just about getting to New York," Skeen said. "We have talked about reaching this goal since the summer and I'm just excited to accomplish that and do big things next week."

The Charlotte, N.C. native was a force down low scoring 15 points and opening up a wide-range of shots for his teammates on the perimeter. Junior Bradford Burgess led the Rams in the scoring column with 25 points, while senior Joey Rodriguez became the 30th VCU player in history to reach 1,000 points with 17 points on the night.

"I'm so proud of this club and the way we executed our game plan, behind the leadership of our seniors," Head Coach Shaka Smart commented. "When they were making a push early in the second half, our seniors really stepped up and calmed us down. From then on, it was our game."

Enough of this HAVOC crap, I'm tired of hearing about it!

Now where do I get my TICKET for the Garden?!?!?!?!?

Me? heck No! I'm all about heading up to NYC and wrecking HAVOC all over the Big Apple!

VCU to MSG in NYC for the pre NIT. We want UCLA or Tennessee for the NCAA Revenge Tour 2010. Unleash Havoc 2.0!

Congrats on the win, from one CAA fan to another. It's a monster OOC victory.

Two things I guarantee Andy katz writes a mention of how well the CAA is doing OOC in his next column. Both Katz and bills were saying before the game tonight that you guys had a shot, throw in the fact that NU won on the road along with ODU's "tough" loss to G-town and we're starting to see a profile be built for the conference...

BTW it's nice being tied for first! :D :D :D :D

According to VCU Athletic website, we are credited with a Nuetral court win. Is that right? Isnt that WF's home court?

I was wondering about that Bang, and was thinking that we would probably get screwed that way since it was technically a tournament! Now you just watch, the tournament we are hosting, they won't give us the neutral court hookup for those games and we will get the .6 wins for being the home team....

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if VCU playing the CAA tournament in Richmond at the mausoleum counts has a semi-home, then playing Wake at Wake should be a road win, tourney or no.

How is it neutral is there's a WF in the center of the court and "Demon Deacons" on the baselines?

I am too lazy to do it, but you can always look it up from last year. Were the games of the pod hosts counted as home or neutral? Should be the same this season.
