Yea, kinda shocked by that too. ;)

According to University of Tennesssee Men''s Basketball Coach, Bruce Pearl, Maynor is ranked number 3 among the top 5 sleepers in this years NBA Draft

1. Marcus Thornton, LSU
2. DeMarre Carroll, Missouri
3. Eric Maynor, VCU
4. James Johnson, Wake Forest
5. John Bryant, Santa Clara

Not bad company surrounding Eric as one of the top sleepers in the Draft...I sense a lot of broken ankles and rattled heads come next season..good luck Eric. :)

Eric as a sleeper: Agree or Disagree and why?
Should he be number 3, higher, or lower on the sleep list in your opinion?

He's says with the right cast, Eric will shine in the NBA. I think he will too. Don't know that he's a "sleeper." I think he's pretty well known and has been considered a top pick for quite some time.

Yea...that Dagger of his is pretty well known by now.

I agree, if the right group of players and chemistry are around him, he will do fine in his first years as a NBA Player...who knows, he might get a ring as a rookie if he goes to the right squad.

That would be amazing. :D

With this draft being quite weak, it allows a lot of room for Maynor to emerge. I'm so excited for the draft. So excited that I'm going to buy Hot Fries. I never buy Hot Fries.

Philly!
Please draft Eric at #17. He is good.

If Philly picks up Eric...I would lock them as at least a 6 seed in the playoffs next year ;)

We Sixer fans are gonna have to watch out for Indiana. They seem to like Eric quite a bit.

I'd rather the Hawks than the Sixers Philly has a bunch of softies (not quite as soft as Gerald Lee)

pros- philly needs a point guard, and he'd fit in well there.

cons- he'd have to play in frickin philadelphia. i wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.

Philly is a great basketball town, much better than a place like Atlanta. No tradition or fan support there at all. In Philly, as long as you give your all and you're not a d!ck, the fans will embrace you.

i dont think locking philly into the 6 seed is actually giving them anything considering they were the 6 seed last year with Brand missing the whole year. With Brand back they should be better than both Miami and Atlanta and should be the 4 seed in the east, but well below the top 3.

Technically in the NBA draft anyone not in the lottery is considered a "sleeper" because while maynor is well known in general at this point to have James Johnson of Wake on that list is a bigger stretch as a "sleeper" since he is considered a late lotto-top 15 pick.

In looking at all the point guards i think at this moment maynor is the most nba ready because of his ability to play in the half court. if you want to be a pure running team i think lawson is a better point, but in the nba especially in the playoffs you need a half court point guard and maynor is better right now than any other point at that.

Is this the same santa claus booing and injury cheering philly? I wouldn't question their loyalty, but A holes aplenty they are. Remember how much they boo their own phillies before their championship.
