In looking up Jordan Burgess came across the capitaldisctrict rankings for 2011 and looked at their 2010 rankings to see who if anyone on the list was still undecided that might be intriguing and came across Eric McKnight. I havent found him on any of the major recruiting sites which is strange, but he is a larry clone and very similar to Donte Williams from what i see and read. He was listed as the number 16 ranked player in capitolhoops 2010 rankings just behind Mason's Arledge who was 14th.

Eric McKnight, 6'9", 190 pound junior forward - Long and versatile, McIntyre recently garnered scholarship offers from Memphis and Oklahoma State, with many more to follow.

Eric McKnight, 2010, Princeton Day Academy - There wasn't too many players in the tournament who had the potential that McKnight does. At 6'9, McKnight was long, lean and extremely active all weekend. The power forward has already received offers from Memphis, Oklahoma State and Missouri. Was a tough match-up for all teams.

Eric McKnight - 6-foot-9 2010 - Princeton Day of Maryland - tough inside presence can step out and shoot the three. Very active on the inside.

*Co-MVP* Eric McKnight 6'9" PF Princeton Day Academy - The North Carolina transfer put on a shot blocking clinic totaling 2.5 blocks per game throughout. McKnight runs the floor well , defends the paint and scores on put backs. Long with a freakish wingspan , McKnight lists both Georgetown and Memphis as frontrunners in his recruiting story.

are we even listed with this dude? It says Georgetown and Memphis...

they mention freakish wingspan. do they mean Larry Sanderish wingspan or just freakish. there is a difference. Larry is almost Ripley's Believe it or Not material. Would be nice to get another player with similar shot blocking abilities to replace Larry when he leaves, whenever that might be.

BTW did anyone see the pic of Larry holding the basketballs under the Hofstra hoop on ESPNU during the broadcast Tuesday night? It was a knock off of the billboard on 95, but still amazing to see.

Eric McKnight's decision to spend his senior season at Princeton Day Academy in Lanham has proven to be a good one.

PDA coach Van Whitfield reports that coaches from Maryland, Wake Forest, George Washington and Virginia Commonwealth, among others, were on hand Thursday to see McKnight help the Storm to a 79-68 win over Montpetit Prep of Quebec.

McKnight, a North Carolina native, played a major role in Princeton Day's 14th win of the season.

Eric McKnight 2010, 6′9 PF ( Princeton Day Academy) very athletic power forward who rebounds well and finishes with authority around the basket. McKnight has a nice mid range jumper and showed that he can finish over bigger athletic big men like Thompson and Kanter. Eric is wire strong and has a great nose for the ball as he scored in double doubles in every game. High Major-

That would be Tristan Thompson of Findlay and Enes Kanter both 4 and 5 star recruits.

according to a poster on the maryland message board at sbnation they offered him earlier this week, so wonder what that means for our chances with him. It should decrease the chances they go ahead and offer on Graham unless of course McKnight goes elsewhere.

Terps offer under-the-radar forward

According to ESPN.com's Maryland affiliate www.InsideMDSports.com, the Terps have offered a scholarship to 6-foot-9 power forward Eric McKnight of Princeton Day Academy.

IF he does go to MD, then both Abraham and Graham are still in play.

We know we lose KP next year, and while we have Saintil, another physical big like Graham [who likes to hit the boards] would be a dynamite addition.

I'm intrigued by this youngman. He's listed as one-star yet has offers on the table from major programs from Big East, SEC & ACC. Clearly coaching staffs see major potential in him. Abraham's under-the-radar status suggests to me that he is a very late bloomer or perhaps more likely a trasnfer or import?

I couldn't find anything substantianl about Abaham.

Since Abraham and Johnath Graham are both considering Maryland and VCU I would hope good things will happen for us--I can't imagine Maryland getting them both. MD has offered Abraham, but not Graham (to my knowledge), even though Graham is a Top 100 PF [and son of MD grad.] while Abraham is a 1 star. Interesting, no?

The story states that Eric's final three are VCU, Maryland and Missouri. All have offered and he will likely be visiting all three soon.

He also lists all three as High Interest now.

Great thread--very interesting information.

Either McKnight or Graham would be great additions (assuming good character), even though they each have different styles. We definitely need another power forward who can fill-in at the post. Either one would get excellent exposure and PT, with development upside theirs for the making.

havent read up on mcknight in terms of character but everything i have read about graham says good things about his character. either would be very good gets and we have others out there like reddic as well.

Eric committed to Iowa State today.

We got Darrell Haley so they had to go after our leftovers. ;)

Losing so many players before their eligibility expires is great for business on the boards - all those scholarship vacancies fuel the recruiting threads and keep the spirit at high beam. I pity schools who are stuck with boring, four-year players. Perhaps the NCAA should outlaw such a stuck-in-the-mud practice.

In the past two seasons, VCU has waved good-bye to nine players - only three of whom were seniors playing out the string. Plus, there was the flirtation with Rodriguez flying the coop. Also, don't forget Ben Eblen (most discussed player in VCU history) who was gentlemanly enough to skedaddle and open up another scholarship.

Now, Grayson owes it to all of his - and himself - to step aside for some brighter prospect. The pulse of the boards depends upon it.
