Eric McNight is planning to transfer out of Iowa St. We were on him last season but ran out of spots. He was holding out for U. of Maryland, but they filled up and we filled up, so he signed with Iowa St. Three days later, I. Grayson decided to transfer, but McNight had already signed his LOI. He was rated a 91 with ESPN. Hopefully, our staff will take a look at him! He would be a nice get!

High School 11.8 pt 10.8 r 4.6 blks per game

I wouldn't be opposed!

6'9" 215 F from Raleigh, NC

Can't really conclude much from his little playing time. Most minutes he played in a game was 9 total.

This was what I really liked hearing about him:

He attacks the offensive glass and refuses to be blocked out; he grabs rebounds at the highest point and pursues the ball outside of his area.

I'm not against this either.
I bet he's a little relieved that Maryland filled up ;)

wait... so this is a guy who only merited an average of under 4 minutes a game, with less than 2 points and under 1 rebound per game... with a block every 5th game.... on a team that finished at .500, and only 3-13 in conference... a team that was ranked almost 90 teams lower than us in the RPI, with roughly the same strength of schedule... and he would be a good get for us?

I know it's off topic, but what happened with Grayson? Can someone refresh my memory real quick? Thanks.

I don't know why he didn't play more other than the fact that Iowa St was loaded with big's. Plus they have 2 more big's that set out this season after transferring in last year. The kid has talent.

well, I ask that as a real question, not trying to be rhetorical, because all I have to go on is his team's and his stat lines, and I realize a lot of nuance can get lost that way.... so while I am doubtful, I could also be convinced... but I take the team/indiv. performance stats a lot more seriously than I do those silly espn recruiting scores

He just transferred out in search of more playing time I would imagine. He ended up at a JC in the mid west somewhere but the last time I checked he wasn't getting a ton of mins there either.

If he transfers here he would have to redshirt. Maybe after a year of practice and workouts he will good for more than 2 points a game.

Toby Veal averaged 6.9 minutes a game, 1.8 points per game, 1.6 rebounds per game, and 0.4 blocks per game on a team that finished 9-22 and only 1-15 in conference. It's called player development.
