FORMER RAMS GRAB TOP TWO SPOTS ON SPORTSCENTER’S TOP 10 PLAYS

BRISTOL, Conn. – The Virginia Commonwealth University athletic department has churned out professionals in nearly every sport.

Two of the most notable alumni stepped into the national spotlight on Saturday morning when Brandon Inge and John Rollins were recognized with the top two spots on ESPN’s Sportscenter Top-10 plays.

Rollins drilled a 78-foot par putt on the 18th-hole at Quail Hollow on Friday afternoon to secure his spot in the final two rounds of the tournament. His heroics grabbed the second spot on the Top 10.

The top spot on SportsCenter and Baseball Tonight’s Webgems went to Inge who made a diving catch in foul territory during the Detroit Tigers’ 6-5 loss to the Cleveland Indians.

Inge is the league-leader in Webgems with a total of six on the year so far.
