Andy is espn's primary college basketball . Gives props to drexel for a 5-1 start despite losing two players in off season incident. Scroll down - its near the bottom of the article. Mentions strong starts by odu and us !
Did you guys see Montana won at UCLA by nine on sunday night !! Suddenly our win over the 3-4 Bruins not looking so good :(

On the other hand, UCLA only lost by one AT Kansas.

unfortunately, i'd say an actual loss to a bad team is weighted more than an "almost win" (aka loss) against a good team 8-)

That's not the point. The question is what kind of season will they have. I'd say playing that close at Kansas indicates they definitely have the talent/ability to have a pretty good season, which is what we're looking for.

Bottom line is that they'll win some games against very good teams and drop some games against bad teams. At the end of the day this game is better than Elon or Radford or Longwood. If they don't finish with a Top 100 RPI I'd be surprised.

BTW, the UCLA team that we beat did not look good at all. They were sloppy and we were sloppy. At the end of the day we showed our maturity and made fewer mistakes. That's why we won.

Anyone see any of the ODU/ECU game. I watched 2nd half.
Much closer than the final score...
ODU gave up a ton of turnovers and missed free throws but was clutch in the last 4 minutes.
I will take their OOC win but as always FODU.

I watched the entire game. ODU's field goal percentage on the first shot they take has got to be extremely low. They get a lot of points created by offensive rebounds. Their 1st shot % was helped a great deal by ECU's horrible defense. I can't imagine how low it would have been if ECU played a little defense. HINT: For us to beat ODU, we need to play good defense and rebound the ball.

On one possession in the 2nd half, ODU played a diamond press. Not only did they give up the easy lay-up (like we do a lot of times), but they game the shooter a shot foul for the and-1.

that's also what Montana is looking for

Nice to see good comments on CAA.

The CAA may be better this year than I had originally thought, or perhaps more fun to watch? I watched the DU vs. NU [played at the Garden] the other day saw two uptempo teams [not fast, but pushing the ball and athletic]. Was fun to watch, and good for CAA. Throw in VCU, ODU/GMU toward the top, and improved JMU [W&M, compared to early season start] and I'm pleased. I really think W&M will continue to improve. They played/coached an excellent game at the STU this past weekend.
