Everyone is overlooking the reason we won this game...

DEFENSE.... Flat out DEFENSE.... Yeah B-Rozz, Theus, and Nixon didn't do too much on offense but they did a heck of a job on defense! We looked more like the defensive Rams from the last few years.

Yeah, and I wouldn't say Nixon didn't do much on offense. He hit some big shots. Right when we needed them.

And our "gang rebounding" - was definitely my key coming into the game .........

Off topic, but also thanks to the guy from the C-section that got my family 5 free pizzas from Papa John's with his made three pointer!!

Defense was definitely key. I also think that our coaches did a nice job. That being said, I was starting to get worried when they were scoring off our press so much in the 1st half. We stuck with it and ended up creating our share of turnovers off of the press.

That' was before Larry came in. Once he came in, the party was over.

Everyone is overlooking the coaching
Totally messed with the ODU's plans....way to think outside the "box" Shaka...

I consulted the wisdom of the experts, and I discovered why we won...

...apparently the refs let us get away with murder, Darius James is D2/D3 caliber, Lee didn't show up, and maybe something about homosexuals (they aren't quite clear on this point)... and yet, apparently IF they could have only played their "B" game, they would have won easily.

ODU's a good team, but the Stu is simply a tough place to play a game. That and VCU's really not that bad of a team despite what they'd like to think. 17-5 speaks for itself. I don't think we win in Norfolk (though I hope I'm wrong on that), it's just the nature of the rivalry. We were supposed to get swept by an ODU team that is supposed to dominate the CAA this year and win games in the NCAA's. Playing them at their place is a different beast from playing at home. It will be Lee's senior night, the last game of the season and I'm sure ODU fans will be jacked up for the game. If we pull out that win, it would be VERY impressive, but I don't expect it.

8 of our last 9.

The W&M and DU games were really tough ones to lose. We were right there in both. And it's looking like DU is a pretty good team.

It's tough to win on the road and a lot of teams aren't even competitive on the road. ODU's lost three CAA games on the road - all by double digits. We've been in every game, which has always been a good sign.

We'll win in Norfolk. Book it.

I hope you're right...but I'm sure many of us thought the same last year after blowing out ODU at the Stu last season. Norfolk was a different story, it was close, but no cigar.

This year, cigar.
