Former Seton Hall basketball coach Bobby Gonzalez is in trouble again.

Fired in March for his antics on and off the court, Gonzalez has been arrested on charges of shoplifting from a New Jersey mall.

Gonzalez, 47, reported to Millburn police headquarters on Monday. He faces charges of criminal mischief, along with shoplifting. He is accused of taking a satchel worth roughly $1,400 from the Polo Ralph Lauren store in the Short Hills Mall on June 29.

Anyone watching a Seton Hall game on TV from the previous season could see a coach losing his mind. He made Bobby Knight look like Casper Milquetoast. He was heading towards a mental breakdown or physical problem like heart disease, stroke or hypertension.

It was good that he was so passionate and successful, but he took it to extremes. In the end he and his players paid the price as they lost focus on what was truly important. This is a morality story of the likes of Joseph Conrad's "Heart of Darkness."

A very sad story but a lesson for us all.

Phil Wenneck: You're not really wearing that are you?
Alan Garner: Wearing what?
Phil Wenneck: The man purse. You actually gonna wear that or are you just fudgein' with me?
Alan Garner: It's where I keep all my things. Get a lot of compliments on this. Plus it's not a purse, it's called a satchel. Indiana Jones wears one.
Phil Wenneck: So does Joy Behar.

Was Gonzalez like this at Manhattan? The dude has really fallen from grace!

At least he has a new nickname - Bobby "Sticky Fingers" Gonzalez.
