FIELD HOCKEY RPI #14

DITTO! Great job on their part. Already matched last year's total wins with many more to come.
 
It's actually pretty remarkable. Consider that the program has one winning season in the last 17 years and is now threatening to break into the top 20. The Rams haven't qualified for the CAA Tournament since '03, but have a great chance this season.
 
Is this just because of the new coach? Did we drop all of our old players overnight and sign a whole new bunch? What happened, because I remember Field Hockey (along I guess with Track and Field) being the weaker links of VCU athletics.
 
unfortunately we dropped a match at home to drexel right after this... :(

Things have been improving steadily since Kelly McQuade took over in '07, but it took a couple years because the program was in such bad shape.
