Good couple weeks for the Ram faithful with Maynor getting drafted and the signing of Mr. Grayson or should I say Mr. Wreaking Havoc. So get yourself a cup of coffee, or beverage of choice, and sing along to the fight song. Bring on the season.

Let's GO V-C-U!

I got the fight song, Hey song (VCU version), and VCU intro with the Maynor yell on my MP3 player. I'm sure not the only one either

My friends scared the crap out of a U of R person in the lane next to us a couple of days ago when suddenly everyone did the yell going down Mechanicsville Turnpike.

Great song. My co-worker went to ODU and spews vomit about them and "The Ted" all the time. He is completely convinced that our run is over since Maynor and Grant are gone. He is now giving me a whole bunch of sh*t that they have football and we don't.

I think I'll drink another 2-3 cups of coffee, play the VCU fight song really loud and totally go Terry Tait "The Office Linebacker" on his ass today. Just my way of showing him that if VCU had a football team we would beat the heck out of them at that too.

Speaking of football...I've had a huge craving for it and fall this past week. I won't lie, got a little jealous when I saw ODU's new football stadium. Gotta be nice to have that to look forward to within the next couple of months....

Yeah, not jealous. They'll spend the year losing to D2 schools.

getSmart, I highly recommend stalking him for about the first 30 seconds of this song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zl_3_SpZhLE), then yelling over top of him, followed by a true Marty Lyons on Jim Kelly style, "givin him the business."

Agreed wish that was us

Football always rules whether you win or lose. I'd rather go have fun every weekend and watch football in the fall than have to cheer for W&M, UofR, ODU, JMU, or god forbid VT in this state.

I get my fix right up the road in C'ville ( Daughter is a student up there). although they havent played like it lately, that is big time D1 football. The difference between that and ANY 1aa school is huge. Great atmosphere, great venue and lot of fun and just an hour up the road. Unless we play at that level I say...nevermind....go to a UVA game and then go to a UR game and then decide what you want for VCU.

Are you new? They say that kind of stuff every summer. They're great in July, but it's all down hill from there. F them. F your co-worker.

People say the same thing about mid major basketball.

The atmosphere at the SC is 10 times as good as the JPJ has been,
as well as the quailty of basketball. Apples & oranges my friend, apples and oranges

My point wasn't to compare the Stu to the JPJ(even though you used Richmond as a horrible example for your scenario). My point was basically that people try and downplay 1AA like its nothing, but I bet if VCU had a 1AA team you guys wouldn't care what level it was you would just be happy to have a field and a team. VCU fans often dog 1AA football out like its nothing, but then when somebody turns around and says mid major basketball is nothing we all want to go and get offended. Plenty of 1AA schools have great venues and great crowds(JMU, Appy State, UD who packs 20k every weekend... etc).

We all want VCU football to be played on the highest level...but you can't get to the top unless you start on the bottom.
