This team finally showed some intensity tonight. They didn't do it the whole game but when we needed it most the team dug in and played some inspired D. Don't know why they haven't been playing with that intensity every night but if they can keep that up, we won't need to score a whole lot of points. We kept one of the best offensive players in the league to 5-19 shooting. Hopefully this is a sign that maybe Shaka's D isn't so bad after all and the players just weren't putting the amount of effort into it that is required. Need to play like that the whole game starting at Trask.

Crowd was AWESOME tonight, you could tell everyone was itching to be a part of this game.

The effort was definitely there tonight. Though statistically we got killed on the boards, every player showed a tremendous amount of heart and battled for almost every single rebound. Coaching was superb by our staff. Juvonte Reddic is legit. Rob Brandenburg is the future. Offensively we struggled shooting the ball, we had a season changing game tonight I think. I really think this game will impact our young guys into the future too. Brandenburg said in the post game that he had never seen our seniors show tat kind of desire before. Heath Houston and Reco McCarter were jumping up and down cheering this team as loud as any student in the East end section or the C section. Character building game tonight.

Love to hear that.

Way to step it up guys. Lets keep that ball rolling.

I was sick and missed the game but watched the second half on TV. Did I see a freshman lead the charge back in this game when we were down 6 and went up by 3 with steals, a block, a follow, rebounds and great hustle for loose balls. He then came out and the seniors finally did something right for a few possessions.

Did I see correctly or am I preduduced because I'm his dad?

Just kidding but would like to be in three years-lol

Rob certainly is looking less like the future and more like the now.....with Brandon playing the first 38 minutes of that game with his head so far up his *** he couldn't shoot straight, I would love to see Rob get a start or at least the bulk of the minutes to get Brandon's head on straight....

Anybody hear Robbie's post game radio interview with Rob? Geez, what a bright, confident and humble kid. Somebody screwed his head on right.

very much so, and sounded very sincere, not just spouting rote cliches

I was especially happy to see Brandon play such a crucial role in the outcome. After a very rough half shooting the ball, Brandon never took a play off defensively and wound up hitting the three that gave VCU their first lead. Shooting slumps will happen: defensive slumps never should. It doesnt require skill to hustle and pay hard; everyone can do it but not everyone does. I'm proud to say that BRozz is one of those guys who never lets his offensive game effect his defensive intensity. We wouldnt have won the game without him tonight.

Big Brandenberg fan here. Love his airtight on-the-ball defense. The kid is a heck of an athlete.

Go to about 44 seconds in and watch the Drexel offensive series. I only mention this because when it happened during the game I was quite pissed, and forgot about it when Brandon turned into Mr. Clutch down the stretch, and then was pissed again when I saw the hilight reel had captured that play!

I'll state what I've felt for awhile that you've made even more obvious with this crass comment: You're disgusting. You're going to make a comment like that about one of our seniors, but you break out into little girl tears when someone criticizes our 30 something year old well paid head coach? Get a grip.

Brandon plays hard constantly. He's been a winner his whole career, dating back to Highland Springs. He's frequently had to persevere and play with a chip on his shoulder as a result of doubters. The kid (man, really. Certainly much more of a man than you) had a bad offensive first half and you're going to say he "has his head up his...."??? One day you'll grow up and get a clue. I'll pray for you tonight that it happens sooner than later, for your own good. Otherwise, you'll be a gross substitute PE teacher for another 40 years and get no further in life that you are now.

Coming from you, that's probably as close to a compliment as I will ever hear. And I didn't even have to bother clicking on the little PM icon to read it!
