Football

Sorry if anyone told me that I was back on my game and I just missed it.

"We want to find out what's the highest and best use for the property."

The word "highest" worries me. Apartments and shopping would mean tax revenue for the city. Not sure what taxes the city would get from just the football stadium and other sporting events there.

But for most city type developments there is always a trade off with a city with respect to tax reductions for the businesses and development....sometimes a city will actually chip in with funds from development bonds. Plus there would be increased traffic and security to deal with. Will be interesting to see what happens.

But VCU has also been a very good partner for the city with a lot of redevelopment on grace and along broad. They took over the hospital behind rhoads when it closed down, took over ukrops/safeway building, rebuild 3-4 blocks along broad, the engineering and business campus on belvedire....and numerous other structures as the campus grew over the years.

the immediate neighborhoods and carytown do not want a "mixed used development"

Re: Club Football

I was told VCU has a club Football program now-I have not seen anything on these forums about it? True or false?

You dont read too well-I said that football has not been mentioned on these forums.
