For Funsies: Conference Reallignment/Creation

The Patriot League will do that to you.

2 Fordham Zingers in a row, Pack.....

Had some time to kill......was curious about Fordham Football

They have 11 coaches and 94 players (80-100 is the rough average) and spen 7.8 million dollars a year on their little boondoggle

Fordham Basketball spends 6.1 million dollars a year

How much NIL monies could Fordham possibly have?? They gotta be bottom two, along with our old friend and hobo school LaSalle.....At least St Francis had the leadership and balls to dip out of this ridiculous and exponential arms race.

Bernadette McGlade has been at the helm of the A10 for 16 years. College sports does NOT look the same as when she took over. If she can't get this Conference right and tight in today's landscape?? Then the members need to find someone who CAN navigate this new order and insure that the A10 doesn't lose any more ground to fellow mids, let alone the Power conferences.

We've had as many bids in the last 4 seasons as we did in the 2013-2014 season alone.

We haven't been a 3 bid league since Mike Rhoades' first year.

And nothing has changed.

I think LaSalle will just eventually drop on their own. I thought Fordham had money, but I guess they don't spend it on basketball.

College application numbers are down across the board. This makes it more difficult for expensive private schools to compete with larger public school that get state money. Throw in the portal and NIL and I don't see some of these programs developing better programs.
Some programs may drop down in conference affiliation but some won't. Why give us A10 media rights dollars to drop down to a lower conference that only gets a single post season bid (yes the A10 is close to that but not quite). The media dollars pay for their programs and the players get to compete against the likes of Dayton and VCU each year.
I have to wonder if UR regrets backing us for A10 membership considering how often we have hammered them over the last 12 or so years. But we have helped to maintain and/or strengthen the overall conference.

I wasn't sure where to put this but this is as good as any I suppose. If we are getting straight info from all sources, it is just possible that the House settlement will slightly rebalance things in favor of basketball-only mids that make the investment like VCU.

Looks good on paper but I don't believe that there aren't SEC teams that won't be spending at least twice that on players in some form or fashion.
