Saw Jamir Watkins predicted as a late first rounder on 2025 mock draft.

Really enjoyed watching him mature last year at FSU.

24. Jamir Watkins (Florida State, SG/SF, Senior)

"Jamir Watkins' combine invite indicated NBA interest, but he didn't do enough there to stand out or further sell himself for the 2024 draft.
One more year of improved shotmaking should do the trick. His wing size and positional strength, handle, playmaking and defensive tools create a coveted archetype. One jump as a shooter should push Watkins into the first-round discussion."

I listen to Virginia Tech recruiting and some insiders over there said VT paid Lawal $435k to come. Said we offered him $250k to stay and he turned down much bigger offers at other schools to go to VT.

I believe the NCAA should allow older players to get an extra 2 years if they go into grad school.

Let Larry Sanders get an MFA at the art school and play center. he could make more off NIL than playing in Taiwan. Could be a way to balance out the disadvantages that mid-majors face by having older, mature, strong players on the roster.

Not as good by any means. However, he has a Carmelo Anthony type game. He will fit well in the free wheeling NBA and his size and strength will be an asset there.

All he needs to do is put in work, a lot of work.

Good for Tobi and good on VCU for sticking to the budget.
Many fans tend to hate on most transfers. I am not in that number.

Some guys come from circumstances we cannot imagine. They may love VCU, and staying at VCU may be in their best emotional and career interest. However, they simply cannot turn away from the money. Their families back home really need it.

For me, I miss them but wish them well, and pray they made the right decision. The one thing I know is VCU will always survive and thrive. We are a destination where good people (coaches and players) want to land.

Nearly double the money was a no brainer even at a 30% non-resident alien tax rate.

I like Tobi, but dont think his loss will hurt very much if Clarke has a good year. I think the loss of Shulga was much more critical, Thank goodness he came back.

I think some people are just hating on Tobi, not so much because of his decision to transfer... but where he decided to go...... cause I know some people hate Va Tech for many different reasons.

But there will always be those that "hate" those who transfer..... mainly key players/starters..... because in their eyes, at least on the surface.... it'll be like the player is saying that school is better than ours.

The end of the bench/role players won't get as much hate, because they rarely ever played to begin with.
