Former Recruits and Players

as bad as they were last year they did win 9 games in conference (9-11) tied for 9th of 14 in 23-24 (one game out of tieing for 6th (7-3 at home with home victories over two ranked teams Illinois and Iowa)
would not count PSU out from getting to .500 in conference

and no I am not a PSU fan - MR finds ways to compete with whatever talent he has

but would be shocked to see them make NCAA tourney - other than big 12 the Big 10 is a juggernaut of a conference in B-ball with a strong homecourt advantage for most teams

Go Ace and Nick!

PSU also has all four teams from the PAC-12 ranked ahead of them in the BIG preseason media poll this year. No way they even sniff .500 in conference play. Rhoades is coaching at a school that has a graveyard full of ex-basketball coaches for a reason. PSU has only had 3 winning seasons and 5 .500 seasons in BIG conference play since joining the BIG. That's over a 32 year span. Those are Fordham type numbers.

Just thought this belongs here... just got a text that one of us here just bought this on an ebay auction:

We're wondering who posted this pic in 2020 and any idea how to track down the original pic post?

So they hired Mike Rhoades to fix it?:lol::lol:... No wonder they don't win.

On a different note... Mike can't go any lower! He could be their winningest coach ever by simply putting up .500s.

We have definitely had better players leave, but I think I’m going to miss watching Tobi just as much as any other player that has transferred. He has NBA potential and he went 2/4 from three

In an interview he said that Ace went through some pro level training this off season. It will be interesting to see the results. Generally, you don't see an undersized guard make it in P6 conferences.

The f- are you talking about? lol. I don't like MR and PSU as much as the next VCU fan, but Ace can play with anyone. It's not like he's 5'7. Dude can ball.

Good for Tobi. Hopefully this is one of those situations where it works out for all parties.
Watched the replay of the game. Couldn't believe he had to transfer schools to find out we had been pronouncing his last name wrong for two years :D 🤷‍♂️ :D

Ace had a solid night last 15 pts (5-8 FG, 4-5 3 pt, 1-1 FT), 4 asts, 3 stls also 2 TOs & 2 PF in 23 mins

Nick Kern in 23 mins off the bench (8 pts, 0-1 FG, 8-8 FTs), 5 rebs (3 off), 4 ast, 4 stl, 2 Blks.... he may not be the best player on the team, but he does a lot of the little things.

Jamir Watkins had 17 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 steals for Florida State against Northern Kentucky.

Jalen DeLoach had 9 points and 6 rebounds in 12 minutes for Loyola Chicago against Chicago State.

Mikeal Brown-Jones only played 10 minutes but had 5 points and 2 rebounds for Ole Miss against LIU.

Jayden Nunn had 6 points and 4 rebounds as Baylor got absolutely obliterated by Gonzaga.

I know Mikeal Brown-Jones stepped up in class/ranking with Ole Miss but I really hope is isn't relegated to the 10-12 mpg type of player.
