Former Sun Belt foe New Orleans may drop to D2

That is too bad considering new orleans is a founding member.

Is this the time for georgia state to make a move? new orleans was not a football member and georgia state can be an fcs member in the CAA until it is ready to make the move to fbs.

Thats an improved outlook - at one point they were talking about dropping all sports entirely.

When I was on the tennis team we were all set to go to the Sun Belt Conference Tournament in New Orleans. They pulled out of the conference and at the last minute the tournament was moved to USF in Tampa.

I am sorry to hear about New Orleans's financial problems. I always enjoyed playing them in basketball. From the article, it sounds as if the students have spoken and are unwilling to pay the price. For those schools who have recently inaugurated football, I wonder how they will be financially down the road. I believe it's going to cost them dearly. College tuition and fees has risen rapidly and with Title IX, football can become extremely expensive.
