Grant has used Eblen as a backup point guard and shooting guard.

"He's doing a great job," said starting point guard Mikhail Torrance. "He's making all the adjustments, and I think he knows his role on the team. He's contributing every time he comes in, if that's taking a charge or boxing out or just running the team. He's doing everything coach asks him to do, and that's important, especially on a team like this where you don't have that much depth."

What's been so pleasant about this "surprise"?

Averagining 1.1 points, 1.1 board, and .7 assists in 9.9 minutes per game.

He's played in all of their games but scored in only 6, his highest output being 5 points in 19 minutes against Toledo in a 17 point blowout. The freshman point guard has an assist in only 8 of their 17 games...his highest total being 3 in a blowout of Jackson St. He's also hitting only 50% of his free throws, 37% of his shots, 17% of his threes.

Yeah, he is bringing it. At least his uniform says SEC on it. That appears to be the only thing he cares about.

Can you say transfer? I think that is Eblen's destiny.

Yeah I don't see anything in his stats that show he's doing much of anything for them. I am sure once Grant gets recruiting going, he's going to be sitting on the bench and not doing anything else. He's already recruited a stud point guard in Trevor Releford, so it's not getting any better for him.

I watched Eblen and Grant lose last night to the Vols at home. They are now 11-7 (1-3). Grant looked pissed walking off the court. I watched the whole second half and Eblen did not play as it was a close game. Bama still plays Kentucky, Florida and other better than they are schools. Could be a long season for them. Looks so weird seeing Grant, Pujols and others wearing Bama gear.

i'm pretty sure eblen did play a few minutes last night.

he had yet another stellar zero point effort.

Yeah, "the look" can come out of nowhere no matter what the scoreboard says. I'll miss that the most.
