• 3B Brandon Inge got an experimental treatment on his aching left knee earlier this week, and maybe there’s something to it. Inge, hitting under .200 since the All-Star break because his left knee inhibits his swing, hit a solo home run in the fourth and a sacrifice fly in the ninth Thursday to make key contributions to Detroit’s 7-6 win over Seattle. He also made two fine catches of foul balls into the stands, one of which resulted in him tumbling over the wall. “There’s soreness,” Inge said. “But as soon as that goes away, it should be fine.”

Had noticed his average slowly dropping, but didn't realize he has been playing injured.
