Eh. I always refer to us as "little" as well when I'm discussing sports. Sometimes I take the time to point out that I mean "little" as in "small athletic budget" and not little as in number of students, but when discussing things from a purely athletic standpoint, I think it's a fair term to use.

To me "little" would have the connotation of being a D-2 or D-3 school, or at best a Low-Major D-I program.

I can guaranty you won't find any of our coaches using that term on the recruiting trail. It absolutely does not fit our program if you study our basketball history and tradition. We've long since moved beyond that.

One other point - "little" schools don't pay their head basketball coach close to one-million dollars as we did Grant!

The last line says it all - the NBA will find you if you're good enough, you don't have to play at one of the big boys.

Recruits should eat that up.

Tell that to Brett Blizzard.

How he never got a shot is beyond me. 3 CAA MVPs, UNCW All-Time Leading scorer, and even uur buddy Jay Bilas recognized him as one of the 25 greatest college 3 point shooters since the introduction of the 3 point line.

I love how these "reporters" state the obvious and think they're somehow imparting some profound knowledge. Here's another: Score more points than the other team and you will win the game. I hope this makes it to the front page of RamNation.
