I actually got the email on this, kind of sucks that its on a Friday night and you have to deal with loads of traffic to get there though. But if I do go I hope you donks bring your money to the poker tournament

Was just thinking about VCU athletics needing something like this. Went to the Richmond Hokies Kickoff dinner at the Richmond Convention Center with my gf who is a Tech student. They charged $50 a person for dinner. Speakers included Queen Johnson (Hermitage High School), Bryan Randall, current playersTyrod Taylor, and John Graves, and of course Beamer. While the event is just a way for the program to hype itself and just raise money, I thought, why don't we do this?

Imagine this, Speakers that could include:
Bring in a famous alumni: Rollins, Inge, Marshall, Meredith, etc.
Head Coaches from other sports: Track, VB, Soccer, Tennis, etc.
Former Head Coaches: Ex: Barnett
Current Men's Basketball Players: Joey, Skeen, and a freshman.
And of Course Shaka.

Include a dinner, silent auction, raffles, and Merch sales and the Athletic dept. would be up big for one night.

$50 a pop! Who's in? I know I would be.

By the way, F the Hokies.

A good event for a great cause! See you there. (Banana: Here is you chance to pop $75!--We don't need to copy VaTech--we have our own evening).

I agree with you, and this is a step in the right direction.
