sometimes- for the most part, i agree with your statement....but i wouldn't quite go so far as to say the vcu library is "amazing". unless it's received a major overhaul since 2002 or so, i would say it's rather ordinary compared to other schools.

Amazing only for the content there. You'd be surprised at the number of W&M and UVA students that are routinely granted access because they need access to things their very respected academic institutions don't have in their own libraries.

I agree the building itself, interior and exterior, could use an upgrade.

Well, we will have to disagree....I was able to graduate with two degrees, be an executive, own two companies and be successful without barely ever stepping in it...

Hey, guys! Have any of you ever heard Jeff mention his two degrees and his own company before? This is the first time I've ever heard him bring it up.

Go study History, or Post-Colonial Sociology, or even Philosophy -- then tell me you never had to step into the library.

It's not needed for everybody, but to say it's needed for NO ONE is absolutely absurd.

That has to stop immediately. ;)

I promise the type of student that will travel to another school for their library probably doesn't even know what basketball is. They're probably harmless.

Start charging extra fees for those classes.

Those majors already come with extra fees of the "Will never get a job making any kind of money at all" variety.

How about we expand the Fast Break Cafe into a full restaurant? Give it open seating that overlooks the court. Completely impractical, but could be kind of fun.

Don't you have enough arguements with everyone else going on here to start one with me? That NY environment getting you...

If brother Alex and Uncle Jeff don't stop fighting, I'm telling Mom and Dad.

Maybe if you had gone to the library more often, you'd know how to spell argument. ;)

Cue sometimes

when I start the official win website this is the first win

I do but typing on this crackberry sucks with these little freaking keys..

and now Alex will tell me that is why I should have an iphone...

That's ok. I know lawyers who don't know how to spell judgment. Come to think of it, they get it wrong on TV sometimes too. I think I saw it spelled wrong on the Nancy Grace Show recently. Wonder if she found out and cut the offender's balls off?

Back to the expansion....

I agree with some of the things already mentioned...
- Move Press Row - create a balcony the entire lenght of the Broad street side and put press up there
- Create other balcony's around with lounge areas for big donors/corporate sponsors
- Upgrade the freaking sound system already
- Find ways to get more student seating and getting them closer to the court and sidelines
- Pav, I actually like that idea of the Fast Break Cafe...

Bottom line is that all credible research universities have the library as a focal point. To eliminate it would be stupid. Now back to the Siegel Center..... How about increasing the capacity....
