Give Richmond the Byrd!

There is an effort to save and support the Byrd Theatre this Sun., August 8, during the Carytown Watermelon Festival. To participate, stop by Richmond's beloved theater and donate $1 per person to help them through these tough economic times and help spur needed renovations (and new seats!)

With 100,000+ expected at the Watermelon Festival, RVA should be able to rally around this community gem and help keep the doors open! You can stop by anytime (not just Sunday) to donate!

I hear they are planning on putting in new seats with the money they raise. Thankfully that means people that are over 6 feet tall can comfortably go to the movies at the Byrd soon.

Yeah, seats will be the same style, but spaced further apart (which makes sense since the Byrd rarely sells out).
