GMU fires Paul Hewitt

odu isn in cusa.

They're still playing? Good for them. As long as they hide the freshman gmu should be good. JJ could make gmu a better program and he'd also benefit from them being bb only as does Shaka.

I later corrected myself. Like I said, following the continued roll of realignment is difficult. CUSA is a little better than the CAA, though, so there's that.

George Mason candidates include Murray State's Steve Prohm and N.C. Central's LeVelle Moton, sources told ESPN.

Either of those would be good hires.

Moton is a real sleeper candidate. He took Central from DII into the top program in the MEAC. I saw NC Central play and they play some disciplined basketball. They beat NC St last year in Raleigh, took Miami to the wire in this year's NIT and went 31-1 in MEAC play. He would be a solid hire if Mason took the chance.

Prohm has been mentioned for bama... prob their plan b or c, but still

That would be a mistake. He needs to take a lesson from Andy Enfield at USC and do the opposite. Be patient and jump up a level versus taking a two level leap before he's ready.

He's just done a great job at NC Central.
But he's coaching in the 2nd worse conference in the country and according to his bio was a high school coach as recent as 2007. Mason would be a huge jump for him at this stage in his career. He would be better off making a CAA type step versus jumping up to the A10.
