Copes departure won't really hurt Mason that much. In point of fact it may help them chemistry wise if there was a problem there. Copes has always puzzled me. He was a consensus top 100 recruit and top 50 or so in some scouting reports, but never really got untracked other than in terms of blocked shots. He was an excellent shot blocker for a 6'8" guy.
The first time I saw him play in high school he looked like a "can't miss" prospect. His full game just never came to fruition.
