I know we still have Delaware, but I wanted to get this out there a little more in advance than Wednesday night. The 2011 Gold Out game will be against odu on Saturday! Tell everyone you know that attends games! Also, if you are a Facebook user, I posted a link to the event below. On the event wall, you will see a photo promoting the game. You can help get the word out by printing off a couple copies and posting them around campus (with permission from the places you are posting them) and the best use of the photo would be to make it your profile picture up until the game.

We will then turn our attention to promoting the Black Out which is the following game vs. Mason on the 15th.

Thanks in advance for helping get the word out!!! Let's make this thing look good on ESPN2!!!

We need to get the bookstore on board for this. Do Black and Gold outs. Say $7 a shirt, $12 for the two shirts bundled.

Totally agree. Virginia Tech does this with their "Orange Effect" and "Maroon Effect" tshirts. You get them at the bookstore either individually, or bundled at a discount. One's usually short sleeve and the other is long. I think this would be nice to get the bookstore on board before the season begins next year. That way you can advertise which shirt is for which game and get the word out there rather than wait till the last second.

Bookstore is doing that, just not that cheap. Normally they have 1 shirt for $25, they have a spirit bundle that is $25 for a gold shirt and a black shirt.

I agree that it needs to be cheaper though... most college kids aren't going to drop that kind of money very often (unless it is on booze).

Also, for students, the Rowdy Rams is $25, and we are supposed to be getting Black Out shirts. If you join the Rowdies, for the same price as the spirit bundle, you would get 1 black and 1 gold Rowdy Rams shirt, plus all the discounts, early entrance to games, the bus trip, CAA floor seats, NCAA tickets, etc. Not bad.

This might be true, but they aren't shirts specifically made for this year's Black/Gold outs. They're just missing out on a great opportunity to make a large sale. I know I'd go get both of them as would the other 3 people in our season ticket group. Too easy to ignore.

$25 for a T-shirt is ludicrous.

I've always thought the bookstore's prices for VCU apparel was really high. Yes, they're good quality shirts, but I don't ever want to have to pay $20 just for a gold shirt that fits.

USC&A gave out gold shirts for the CAA Tournament last year, I wonder why they don't give out gold shirts at the gate for the students at gold-outs, and black shirts for the students at black-outs?

(And I don't want shirts that say "Beat ______" lest we suffer ODU-esque karma, losing on their own home floor to the same Rams their shirts said they were supposed to "slam". If that were me I'd have burned that shirt after the game.)
