I haven't been down to Richmond in about 3 years and I'll be heading down sometime this month with the family to check out the Picasso exhibit at the VMFA. Looking for some casual lunch and dinner possibilites near VCU. Was hoping to pick up some suggestions from the board. We're open to pretty much any type of food. Thanks!

In my opinion there's a lot so it's hard to go wrong. I personally suggest Mojo's if you love wings/cheese steaks.

The Sidewalk Cafe has always been my favorite. The fish burrito is awesome!

I recently went to the Picasso exhibit and it's well worth the money. The expansion of the museum is awesome. The interior openess, expanded exhibits, two restaurants inside, the grounds, ease of parking are all impressive. Richmond is very fortunate to have this museum.

For a good sit down dinner my favorite is Comfort. Just a couple blocks east of Belvidere.

Depends, do you want to intentionally go down to VCU to eat, or would you rather eat near the museum?

Then if you want food that will stick to your colon, go with the Village.

If you want healthier fare, I would go with the new Sprout, a "local-vore" retaurant (haven't made it there yet, but I've heard great things).

If you want an excuse to go into the Stu, then eat at the Fast Break Cafe :)

Probably late on this...but the restaurant on the third floor of the Museum, "Amuse", was named restaurant of the year by Style Weekly (I'd say that's the top award you can get as a Richmond restaurant).

As far as getting closer to VCU, Kuba Kuba is one of the best all around restaurants (price, taste, atmosphere)...The Village though is what I'd call "very VCU" (black and gold floor tyles, VCU signs, etc), and has a wide range of things to eat.
