Props to the following...

BYU over Oklahoma
Boise State over Oregon
William and Mary over UVA
Richmond over Duke

I'm sure there were more...but loved those outcomes in particular.

I have this feeling that BYU runs the table and somehow Oklahoma does, then BYU gets jumped by Oklahoma for a shot at the national title.

I felt bad for UNI. The kicker had two chances at beating Iowa on a field goal but the line couldn't hold up both times. You think all the pressure is on the kicker to be the hero or be the goat and his guys don't even give him the chance

UNI played well though. They could very well be one of the teams to go deep in the playoffs again this year. Not to mention they barely loss to the champions Richmond last year.

I know they were beaten by a better BCS team, but I LOVED that VT lost too!

F Alabama and a school that names itself after a sea of mud(see 1907 UAB-Auburn game)

F that you cheered for Bama

F that VT loss

I'm pretty sure many of us were hoping for a Alabama loss no matter how much some of us hate VT. Alot of VT hate is directed at Seth Greenberg and his crying rather than football. oh and the fact that them and UVA are afraid to play CAA basketball teams.(Specifically ODU and VCU)

CAA Leaves Its Mark on I-A Teams

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/09/09/AR2009090902371.html

Last weekend's victories by William & Mary over Virginia, Richmond over Duke and Villanova over Temple reinforced the notion that the Colonial Athletic Association remains one of the strongest leagues in division I-AA football, if not the most powerful.

Should James Madison knock off Maryland and New Hampshire topple Ball State on Saturday, it will further enhance the CAA's reputation and strengthen the argument that the talent gap between division I-A teams and the top programs in I-AA is shrinking.

"I've always told people that when Appalachian [State] beat Michigan [in 2007] . . . it was all the talking heads on television that were talking about what a huge upset it was," James Madison Coach Mickey Matthews said. "You didn't hear any coaches in the Big Ten and the CAA saying it was a huge upset. The top 10 or 15 teams in I-AA football can play with anyone in the country. I'm not saying we're going to beat them, but we certainly can compete against anyone."

This is the fourth year in a row that at least one CAA team has defeated a division I-A team. New Hampshire is going for its fifth consecutive win against a division I-A team this weekend. Since 1997, CAA teams boast 19 wins against division I-A opponents; no other I-AA conference comes close to matching that number.

CAA teams have also fared well within their own classification.............

The top 10 or 15 teams in I-AA football can play with anyone in the country.

Lets slow down here...anyone?...like UF or OKLA or USC or LSU...or anyone like Duke & UVA and the bottom of the worst BCS football conference in America

nice showing but let's not get carried away...Maryland was pole-axed by Cal but beat JMU( In ot)

maybe I should clarify...
the main reason I hate VT basketball is because I hate VT football.
I was cheering like heck for Alabama. Grant did not sign a football contract, so I had no issues doing it. VT vs Alabama in a basketball game would have been a little different, and yet, I still would have rooted against VT.
I despise VT football with a passion. When I see maroon and orange together it makes my blood boil. Before I hated ODU and the Ticks, I hated the cHokies. I will always hate the cHokies. I may put down my hatred one day a year (4/16), but that is it. All you hear about in the east end of henrico (after Varina football) is VT football. EVERY WHERE YOU GO. Grocery stores sell cHokie water. It seemed like everyone that was anyone wanted to go to VT. heck, even church sermons would use VT football games an examples for their message! The more I heard about freaking VT football, the more I hated it. Maybe I'm just weird, but that's the way it is for me. So, in closing, F ODU, F UofR, F VT. My favorite college football teams (until we get the black and gold on the gridiron) are the teams those guys are playing, and I'll always root for the little guy (non-BCS). Go Boise St!
