Sunny and 58 today.

We got in about 4 PM local time. Checked in and found Jeff and Mrs. Jeff. The Hooker flew in around 5. Hit the streets and got a Big A@@ Beer (that is what they call it, 24ish oz for 6 bucks!!). Had oysters and gumbo, and if I may say, they were the best I had in a long time.

Up to Bourbon St. for more beer. Checked out the s@x shows (from the outside  ) then just cruised the shops. More beer. Hit the casino late, lost $200, back to room.

Game day. Seems like we have a few fans here (ran into few on the street and at the ACME Oyster Bar). Most of the City is gearing up for the big game. Sorry, not the Rams-Wave, but Cowboy-Saints. But we are gearing up for the Rams, even if everyone else is thinking football.

Had such a great time last night we may sell the football tickets and just spend the evening on The Street. It was just too much fun last night.

Enjoy the snow. I've been streaming Channel 12 this morning. Nothing kills a good snow like rain on top of it. Hopefully it will change back to snow so everybody can just sit inside and enjoy Robbie on the Radio, or TV if you can get it. Be safe out there people. Drive slow or don't drive at all.

More later. Go Rams.

oh to dream! have fun for all of us. BTW I only have about 8" of snow at my house but it is stilling snowing hard as heck. No way I would trade in being trapped in my house for all the stuff you are doing

damm, sounds nice-haven't been there since 71 i think-got 14 inches here with about 8-10 more expected-this is crazy.

how is Rick enjoy the Big Easy while Im shoveling the snow in his driveway???? I got the wrong end of this deal

Might have some snow waiting for you when you get back Rick!

Totals after additional snow today will be on the order of 6-12" on the Eastern side of Richmond area and 12-18" in the Western metro. It might not look that high, though, as sleet and rain tend to compact snow that has already fallen. Higher totals around 2 feet will be found in Louisa, Spotsylvania, Caroline, Fluvanna, and western Hanover.

You can probably pay for your trip by selling rides to rams fans. I'm not too sure how operational RIC will be ;)

I wish I had just pulled the trigger and justified the expense of heading to NO. However, I will be watching on the feed with the gf and pulling for the Rams whilst an ugly central PA snow dumps no my head.

Girlfriend got me a new VCU sweatshirt for xmas...guess she got tired of my old one with all the holes

Back in the room for the night.

This is the greatest city in the world.

Colts won Thursday. Rams win today.

Sold Cowboy tickets for a nice profit. Spent night on the street cheering for there to be only one undefeated NFL team, but that as easy.

Too much fun.

Way to represent Rick! You sticking around for the New Orleans Bowl Sunday night?

Rick,

I don't make it on many road trips so it is cool when you can get on here and let us know what things are like in the city that day. Thanks for doing that. Sounds like a good time was had. Be safe getting back.

We thought about it, but decided to hit the road. Upside of driving is you are in control, but it takes more time. However, at least I KNOW I'm leaving in 30 minutes. A lot of people are headed to the airport wondering if they are getting a flight out today.

The decision to sell the football tickets was a good one. We had far more far hanging in Pat O'Brien's with the Saint fans, telling them we are cheering for two undefeated teams, all the while secretly enjoying every time the Cowboys did something good. I had my Colts gear on, VCUYvon had on Black & Gold, so we were well concealed. Only once did the guy standing in front of me and say, "you know, you say you are cheering for the Saints, but I'm not so sure." Then I pointed to the Black & Gold and he just said OK. What fun it was. Undercover fans!

Oh, and I'd weight 400 pounds if I lived here full time.....GUMBO!!!!

Ah, living vicariously while slaving away in snowbound Richmond.

I can report the Carmelia Grill was as advertised, a fun place last night.

Most memorable part of visit so far was a stop at the Jonathan Ferrrara Gallery. Han an exhibit there of Ralph Bourque that was first rate. The drawing of "Fat Man" was eye opening and a stunning drawing of Ms. Wasilla, 2009. http://www.jonathanferraragallery.com/dynamic/artist_jump.asp?ArtistID=65&Page=1&ArtworkID=4241

Camelia Grill is one of my favorite places! Did you try the milk shakes or hot apple pie alamode? All of the food is awesome there and it's a great atmosphere watching those guys cook.
