HAVOC?

You people are crazy. You can't press and create havoc if you can't make buckets....we didn't shoot well, in fact our shooting was piss poor, and this was the result.

one thing that is missing is any credit to ur's defense...they simply played well and disrupted our offense. They had a week to prep for us (coaches don't take exams) so credit where credit is due. it took us until the 15 min mark of the 2nd to figure it out. our guys were confused by the switching.
Anderson is a potential all american. he ran his team. our PG is seriously limited by a groin injury. maybe they sit him until he is healthy but i could not imagine the vindicativeness on the boards after we lose several games if joey stayed on the bench.

oh and the officiating was the absolute worse i have ever seen....it didnt cost us the game but comounded our timidity on defense.

Yep, they're tough. They did have exams this week, so their "week" was limited. Honestly, they are just a GREAT team, and well-coached. KA and Harper are the truth.

I'm starting to think that "havoc" is just a front to try and cover up the fact that this team can't play half court defense.

I think HAVOC would be more effective if it wasn't so predicatble. We should not press every single time, we would be better to mix it up.

The thing is.. if we don't press then it's not Havoc. It'd be (Havoc)/2.

agreed. no excuse for losing, but really refs? that was piss poor officiating.

Well the press every single time is not creating havoc, our opponents are getting too comfy against it.

sadly I think the Havoc falls on VCU a lot. Too many easy baskets and or alleyoops. Right now the problem is if a team can play good offense the Rams are in trouble. Once a team breaks the press the Rams half court defense has yet to show they can stop a team from scoring.

While it may be true that you cannot full court press unless a bucket is made, on the few times when VCU did score they seemingly never attempted to utilize that press. Furthermore, the defensive effort was less than 100%, save guys like Ed Nixon and a couple others.

"Havoc" sounds neat, but it's not the 40 minutes of heck that it was marketed to be

We do not press the entire game. In fact, many of us have wondered from time to time, this season, why we are not pressing in a lot of situations. So that argument is off-base. But I have to totally agree with you- and many others right now. We need to DROP anything related to the word Havoc, from our press releases, programing, etc. Because there is no havoc in our arsenal. It's more like occasional disruption, and some positive success, off of it. But not havoc. Not on offense, or defense. It's all talk.
