From ESPN.com:
"Seemingly each season, the USF Bulls seem poised to take a step forward, only to struggle for wins in the Big East. This season, the losses are coming even earlier, which puts Stan Heath in a dangerous position.
Last night's setback to the Central Florida Knights comes hard on the heels of an opening-night upset at the hands of another C-USA program: Larry Eustachy's Southern Miss Golden Eagles. The Bulls are one of the larger teams in DI, with massive frontcourt players like Augustus Gilchrist, Jarrid Famous and Ron Anderson anchoring the team in the post. Nonetheless, the team gets only 19.7 percent of its points at the free-throw line, and ranks 254th in blocks. That points to the players, but Heath himself points out an issue that seems to come back to his own doorstep.
"We have these four- and five-minute lulls in games, and against a good team, that comes back to haunt you," Heath said. "That's what happened tonight."
USF's schedule isn't getting any easier, with giant slayers VCU, Brigham Young and Kent State on the near horizon. If Heath can't find a way to get his physically talented players into the game mentally, USF may soon make a move to find someone who can."
