As you know, I didnt like Shaka's performance this year on the sideline. However, given what Grant left behind, and what Shaka is bringing in we are going to be loaded next year and following.

Next year we have:

2010-2011: Brad, Brandon,Joey,Ed,Santil,Theus, Skeen,Reco ,Santil, a 6'7" Juco tansfer and Maybe Larry, and Grayson

Can you see Ed, Joey, Larry/Santil, Burgess, and Skeen. with Brandon, Reco, Theus, and the 6/7 guy backing them up. Man

2011-2012: How about the next year? Theus, Burgess, Santil, Reco, the 6'7" guy or the 6'11 and 3/4" in the post. Man what a large and talented crew. Grayson, and the 6'7 kid out of Florida.

I thought there might be dropoff after next year. However, it looks like we have already reloaded.

I hope Shaka has learned from this year and look forward to next year when we get back to the NCAA and win a game. If Larry comes back we might win 2.

The 2011-2012 looks good as well. And for the record, I will not except any drop off from 2011 to 2012. I know we will lose alot. However as detailed above we will still have alot. I just hope Reco is as good as advertised, he a Burgess play well together, Shaka resists moving the Reco inside and keeps him on the wing, and finally Grayson waits his turn as Shu did during his tenure at VCU.

I'm especially excited about Reco McCarter. I was watching the Ohio State game today, and thought that Reco could potentially be like an Evan Turner. Here's Turner's scouting report coming out of HS:

Turner is a smooth athlete at nearly 6-foot-7 who plays like a budding new age point guard. He handles the ball equally well with either hand and has a superb hesitation move going either direction. He is also able to guard four positions on the court. He does need to get stronger and improve his shooting range. But with his fluid handle, mid-range capabilities, court vision and defensive prowess, Turner is developing into an elite prospect.

Reco:

This long and wiry strong lefty is smooth as he scores in a variety of ways. McCarter runs the floor in transition and can finish above the rim with flare. He has an excellent mid range game and can knock the three down off the catch with space

McCarter has been described as a smooth and athletic lefty, with the ability to run the floor and lock down on defense.

I might be stretching to compare the two, but Reco will be good no doubt. Also, the fact that he's left handed will provide a different dimension of offensive problems.

i would settle for Manny Harris of Michigan, :D

Funny how he can proclaim we're going to be loaded but can't name two of the guys coming in and I assume has never seen any of the new guys play. Can we at least wait to see these guys play before we start creating those ever dangerous "expectations."

I agree. We were loaded this year and ended up 5th in the conference.

If by that you're referring to a relatively inexperienced and immature loaded team, then yes...

Is he? Or setting the stage for next year's "underachieving rant?"

well I can't disagree there....

Playing time should be interesting....Joey should be in contention for MVP, which could mean more shooting. Theus should play more based on what we saw this year. Daniels is a beast, Rozzell and Nixon are also seniors, smart continues to say the freshman will make an impact next year.....

Sounds like a train wreck to me for minutes and team chemistry. Cause lord knows I didn't understand his substitution patterns this year and I left out half the team on this post.

Hate away....

Playing time should be interesting, but I'd always rather have that "problem" than have significant unknowns being relied on heavily!
