How are you feeling right now about the team and program?

Basically. MSS's uncle and relatives didn't think Rhoades was the right coach for him if he wanted to eventually play in the NBA. When people reacted to MSS going portaling, the family lashed out. I got threats of legal action from his sister after posting about it in the positive group.

The crazy thing is even with Rhoades being Rhoades, MSS's career probably would have gone better had he stayed, but his family would not have it.
The relatives were psycho. They threatened me and the other admins on the other VCU basketball Facebook group. The sister came after me too on private message among other relatives. Nevermind they were trying turn people on Rhoades on their way out.

Straight from Ed about rev sharing

"We have an advantage at VCU. I have heard from many Power 4 athletic directors across the country since the local media published a story on how much revenue we plan to share with our student-athletes starting next year. Many institutions, even at the highest level, will not have the room to share as much in the sport of basketball as we do due to what they must spend to remain competitive in football. Without football, we have a tremendous advantage to recruit and retain tremendous talent to VCU."

Zero surprise and aligns with a post I made a couple weeks back. Because there is in essence a "salary" cap, most every school that has football is not going to be able to avoid to pay basketball players what VCU will be able to pay

The “salary cap” and the NCAA allegedly looking at NIL to make sure they are “fair market value” should help level the playing field, and even put us ahead of the curve compared to many other schools. Super glad Ed and crew have us heading into the new world of college ball full speed ahead 😎

Tobi is playing the 4 at Tech, not the 5 he played here. He has a big guy next to him guarding the other teams center so he doesn’t foul out in 10 minutes of play. He would not have had that luxury if he had stayed. Once Clark decided to come here he was always going to be our 4.

Also, Tobi isn’t dominating the ACC. He is improving but he still has a long way to go.

You might want to double check those crazy pills.
A friend of mine who is a big donor at Virginia Tech told me that Kentucky is offering Tobi seven figures to come there next season. My friend is usually spot on with his information, but we'll see on this one.

I can now say with some degree of certainty that this is at least one of the best VCU teams of all time.

VCU is 24-5 which ties the best W-L record thru 29 games in VCU and the best in 40 years. The 80-81 and 84-85 teams were the last one to do it.
