I'm also a frustrated Ram
resigned to the current state of roster turnover and free agency
resigned to watching the VCU Rams exist in a perpetual state of high end mediocrity...could be worse, I know
Sad about what we've lost as fans of a sport where growth, relationships, and milestones were based on years and not months
I suppose I'm happy enough when it's game day, and a little happier when our guys play well and win....but, last night didn't pi$$ me off like it used to. Not sure what that says about me and my current state of fandom....but I bet it's not good.
In the teaching world, lazy administrators have recently begun asking teachers in August...."What's your WHY" for doing what you do?....it's become a punchline amongst those of us who are in the trenches doing the daily work in an everchanging and (sometimes) pitiless, hostile, and undervalued profession. I suppose the same question is asked of sports fans every day. Maybe we're seeing it with a less than sold out Stu, a less than enthused student section, and a less than cohesive team that will assuredly be playing (mostly) somewhere else next year...
I still love my Rams
and I still enjoy a gameday
and, god help me, I like being part of this VCURN community
So in summation?? Meh, I guess I've been better
