seriously this unofficial official viewing party things is odd, everyone wants a piece of the pie

heres how i see it:
the official VRN sponsor just sold out to UK fans and i dont care UK ties or not, VCU is the home team (effff if i even go there again, game or not)

tmillers quality food great TVS but simple requests have been snubed so customer service needs work

republic needs to STEP UP and make sure they can get all feeds this year and capture the hearts of ram fans

and not curbside found out that republic is stepping up and now is trying to get some money off the rams in NYC (again efff this)

i do have to agree with john that republic has great food and reasonable prices, easy location and a PARKING LOT (pleasants hardware), I am officially 100% in support for republic if they truly step up and get all available game feeds and offer ram fans deals on game day

has anyone looked into gus' sports bar? that place is awesome, has parking, has good deals and the food is pretty good (looking at you, carne asada cheese fries!). the owner is very much a fan of showing vcu games and if we could work out some "official watch party" with them, i could see even better things happening.

i dont care what we do but some bar needs to step up and be the PLACE, cool with you have UK fans on the reg but when VCU plays at MSG it needs to be priority over all else (i could understand the boot during a VCU/NU but not VCU/UT at MSG)

I'm not mad at Mulligan's at all. Kentucky fans have dibs on the side room for their games, it's been that way. Kentucky fans had been going there longer than us. Mulligans doesn't want to piss anyone off, they want to make everyone as happy as they can (they're a friggin' business). So in this case it's a lesser of the two evils I suppose, Kentucky fans have been doing this longer, we need to be loyal to them. I completely understand. Mulligans will still be my pre-game spot of choice.

Go Rams!

if anyone is interested, the unofficial chicago viewing party will take place at a tennessee alumni bar next to my place.

there will be lots and lots of assholes in orange with 3 yellow shirts mixed in.

fine, screw it. i'm making this the official chicago viewing party.

Taking my talents to the republic.

The Republic is WAAAY overrated in my opinion. Crowded, smoky even in the non-smoking half of the bar, and the food is nothing beyond typical bar fare.

well, when you are looking to watch a basketball game in a bar, most of the time it's a pretty safe bet you'll be served average bar food.
