how many official unofficial parties?

Crowded, smoky even in the non-smoking half of the bar, and the food is nothing beyond typical bar fare.

well, when you are looking to watch a basketball game in a bar, most of the time it's a pretty safe bet you'll be served average bar food.

Not Champps; they've got a full service menu.

true, i'll give ya that. i remember champps having some pretty decent food. however, it is definitely the exception to what's typical.

As does the republic.

In addition to their regular menu which includes New York Strip, Portabella Polenta, BBQ, Great burgers and sandwiches, they also have a number of Thai features this month.

You're right; it definitely is...which is why I'd go there

Perhaps, but it's also about the size of my walk-in closet and could use a better venitlation unit and a good scrub down; it's not the cleanest/most attractive of places...in my opinion.

Different strokes, I guess. Plenty large for us, great service, and was very clean last time I went. They've been undergoing some pretty significant updates as of late.

Tonight a bunch of places will have the home team on a screen or two. If I can get out of the house, I'll be trying out the Republic. It's a small, local business that I've never been to before, it sounds great, and I'm willing to give it a try and not get caught up in the 'official' wording.

Tonight, you can't go wrong. There will be people cheering for VCU all over town.

4Running is a pretty sharp dresser. I think this speaks more about the size of his wardrobe rather than the size of Republic.

Everyone just remember to be safe and careful. It is considered the busiest bar night of the year.

True story. DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE.

Best Cab Company in Richmond if you need it: Napolean Cab Company - 804-354-8294

F official parties. Hangin' out with couple buddies at home, some brews, good food, snacks, cigs, music, no rednecks, obnoxious kids, avoid another amateur hour of a night, no cops, it's gonna be hula hoop! GO RAMS!

JacksonWard, I'll put up a five spot for your bail too.

I'll be rocking old town Alexandria in my rowdy shirt. I managed to find a Tenn grad at work today by wearing it there, but she took exception to my calling Pearl a cheating dirtbag.

I'm looking forward to work on Monday. :D
