1. Play SMART!
2. Value the basketball
3. Don't reach on defense
4. Box out
5. Play under control

VCU does none of these things on the road and it really sucks!! Must improve. Have faith in the coaches and players that they will.

We need to play 40 minutes with the same intensity as the first 15 minutes. LEADERSHIP we need LEADERSHIP.

well our intensity today was the middle 15 min, or at least the last 5 of the 1st half and first 5 of the 2nd.

Bingo.

Definitely don't feel satisfied from this game. You add Skeen to your team and only beat a poor Tulane squad (in front of practically no fans) on the road by a point. Our guys need to learn how to blow a team out when they've got the chance. Also hate to see Larry come out sometimes when things really seem to be clicking for him...

Thought Joey made a great play on that layup though. Still a win, but definitely worries me.

Guys shut down big time at about the 10-minute mark. Don't know why.

Personally, I don't think the faster tempo is the reason we are blowing leads. I'm not completely sure why this is happening, except there is an obvious lack of leadership coming down the stretch of games- especially away games. And I am NOT attacking Joey specifically. Leadership comes from a lot of places, and from a wide variety of guys on a team. And it's not just the players. But for some reason, guys are not stepping up down the stretch.

But i do understand the point, i think, that some of you are trying to make. Maybe with the up-tempo, there is more room for fundamental blow-ups, turnovers, mistakes, and of course, it's at that time in games when opposing coaches start getting desperate, turning up the pressure big time, etc. So yes- maybe we could blend our style of ball with a more tempered half court set when we take big leads into late-game situations. ?? I don't know. You are who you are. But we have goit to figure out something, b'c this is not good.

Hey- I'm still taking the road win all day strong. Next up- back at home for East Carolina and the slime bucket that coaches them.

Way tooooooo many subs in the last 10 minutes. Get the best players in and let them finish the game. That should solve it! ;)

Good point. I too would like to see a more stabilized rotation down the stretch of games. I know if guys are struggling, you need to sub out some.... but I'd like to see more continuity. Don't make em' feel like they are going to be coming out at any moment. Might ease them some.
