Yeah we wanna route for Tenn. because it looks better for our record. Not saying that Tenn. losing to Nova will hurt it, because Nova is a really good team, but if Tenn. can manage to beat Villanova, it makes our loss look better especially where it was a close loss that we almost came back to win.
 
good "W"...great effort on the boards..did what we had to do to win...skeen, veal, b rozz, big shot, theus hinton everyone...
 
Great overall team effort although we got pounded on the boards. Skeen, Burgess and Brandenburg played very well. Everyone else contributed with some lapses especially my boy Joey. I look to see Brandenburg getting more minutes each game as he outplayed Nixon today from my perspective. Joey at times tried to do too much and needs to slow down a tad. Darius is looking stronger each game and plays great defense. Veal and Hinton were solid. Good road win now we need keep the momentum going. Go Rams!

In March the only thing they will look at is that we lost to UT. They won't look at "close loss that we almost came back to win.".

But as much as I hate to say it we must route for UT...and UCLA....and Wake

...and USF, once we beat them.

...and UAB, once we beat them.

yeah good point. as long as Tenn. can hold its own and not choke it will help us come March, if we dont win the tourney or it will help us get a better seed. Same with our other non conference opponents.
 
to me it is as much about getting over beating the name on the jersey...it has seemed ot be an issue for us in the past...we had the opportunity and siezed at least half of it

Rob definitely had a good game but Ed's game isn't always judged on offense. His man defense is hands-down better than any one on this team.
 
Nixon without a doubt is an excellent defensive player but Rob B is not that far behind him especially as a freshman. Nixon is the senior and deserves to play more but it is reassuring to have such a talented and athletic player like Brandenburg who I think will go down as one of our best ever before his career is finished at VCU.

...sorry but beating a legendary BB program IS a big deal and will pay dividends in March
 
Yeah, baby!! Huge win is right. And the best thing of all about the way we are playing right now, is that we are really playing TEAM basketball. It's been a little while since I felt quite this way abut our team focus. We are deep. We are fast. We are a solid passing team, and we are dangerous at a lot of positions. VCU basketball is a lot of fun right now. GO RAMS!!!!

agreed it is a big deal and it will pay dividends in march....my comment was simply we beat a big name program...we've seemed to have problems in the past getting over that hump....nothing more....
 
Gotta give Darius some love - he was big down the stretch - at least one bucket, one assist and 2 CLUTCH free throws ..........
