Every player brought it today. DJ Haley has been the X factor that teams did not count on seeing. His presence and rebounding has taken a lot of pressure off Jamie and Bradford inside the paint. I know his numbers are not yet showing up in the stat lines but he has improved exponentially late in the season. If we can play with that kind of effort from everyone on the roster tomorrow there is no way we will lose. The guards really did a great job at keeping players outside by sealing off lanes. There was gang rebounding under the basket. I'm a huge fan of Joey and he shocked me at how well he handled the pressure the last 6 minutes when Mason started to pressure. Today was an all out gutsy effort from our team and they earned that victory. Play with that kind of effort for 40 more minutes and we are going dancing.

Very true about DJ. The Patsies were mugging him at times. Do you have to be a "name" player in this conference to get a call?

Yup. Eric Maynor is a great example of this. He had a rep and got plenty of calls to go his way. Freshmen usually don't have reps with officials and won't usually get calls like that. Kind of sad but it happens.

Today our team brought their A-game, we should all be proud of the effort they gave. Our rebounding effort seemed exponentially better. I could feel how much heart our team had and it made me proud to be a ram after witnessing much worse efforts before this game. I certainly doubted we'd pull this one off, and I'm sure a lot of us on these boards and off them doubted as well, but inside we all knew our team compete with the best of them if we put in solid effort, had heart, and played as a team. Today was that day where we did just that and proved it. Our team is amazing, we just gotta pull this same kind of effort, heart and team-play tomorrow against ODU.

We have had an excellent weekend of basketball. I believe these CAA games are the best since we joined the conference. Certainly the two VCU games will long be remembered but for different reasons. Saturday's ending could not be more spectacular. Today, we saw VCU play 40 minutes of intense, focused, and team oriented playing. I also saw a coach at his best. It was, perhaps, our best game this season. Two down and one to go!
