They might be hooking up the conference right now. Monarchs starting to draw eyes to the CAA with three straight wins against Clemson, Xavier, and Richmond. Their next challenging game shouldn't come until Dec. 30th when they head to #8 Mizzou (unless you include a homer against Dayton...who's really struggling at the moment). If they make it to that game without an additional loss I don't see how they aren't ranked by that point.

Rams need to go on a run as well and steal a nice road win at UofR. I think we have a very winnable start to our conference schedule, and should be the easy favorite for our first 7 in conference. Good opportunity for the CAA's biggest rivals to make a little noise here.

I appreciate the praise Natty, it's always good to see opposing fans give a team credit when its due but I'm still remaining cautiously optimistic with this next stretch of games...playing @ Delaware (obviously a conference opponent so they are familiar with our style of play), @ East Carolina (heard that in the past ECU is a very tough place to play), at home vs. Maryland Eastern Shore (nothing concerns me about that game obviously) then home at Dayton (yes dayton has been struggling but I'm sure Dayton will give their best game).

As for the Monarchs being ranked, I think we'll have to be 10-1 going into the game at Mizzou and even then I think we will be just on the edge of being ranked.

In regards to your team that was a very tough loss last night and impressed how you guys fought back from a big deficit against a Big East team on the road. Also great to see how you guys played in the NIT as well with wins over Wake Forest and UCLA and played the Vols very tough. As of now, it definitely looks like we'll be the only two teams making noise in our conference this year. But hey, what else is new...

I remember somebody was saying "IF" ur and us were not losing any games before Dec 11, one of us will be ranked after that game... what now? :?

We won't be.

We had our shot. Winning against Tennessee and Villanova and continuing on to win against USF would've got us in the rankings... But alas, this year, we'd have to go undefeated until we face ODU, and then beat a ranked ODU that also has gone undefeated and has defeated #8 Mizzou in order to penetrate the rankings, and even then, we might be on the fringe. Our RPI might be amazing, but we won't be ranked.

I will disagree with you about ODU's non-conference schedule helping the CAA. Has Butler's recent success helped the Horizon? Does anyone care about Cleveland State or Detroit-Mercy or Illinois-Chicago?

We need to beat whoever we play. We can't try to ride ODU's coat-tails. We just have to win.

ODU about to drop one on the road to the Hen's...1 min to go and Delaware up 6...

the conference seems to drag everyone down.. hoping it's not a 1 bid league, but there's still a lot of basketball to be played and the conference is kinda up in the air as to who will be on top by march

Can I get a hurray for the 1/2 to 1/3 of our conference that likely will have an average RPI of 250 or below come conference time! Gotta love the outstanding mediocrity we all seem to be satisfied with.
