So what do we owe the Rams inconsistency to so far this year?

My money is on our lack of rebounding. Stronger rebounding stabilizes the offense and defense as we limit their shots and giver ourselves extra opportunities.

Secondly we are having some serious issues on half court and full courtdefense :o . it seems that unless we steal the ball we get scored on or at the least give up a decent shot.

Bradford Burgess is so good at what he does it is scary. He is a rock.

We gamble with forcing a turnover, getting a steal, with giving up an easy layup or dunk (as we saw tonight). We're obviously not fast enough to get back on to the defensive end if we play a full court press. Our half court defense is atrocious after 6 games in, no semblance of order. Honestly USF had the opportunity to close it out without overtime a few times as after the pressure defense on the inbound pass, there were 2 guys open on numerous occasions by the paint that could've easily gotten them more points. A top tier Big East team would've won by 30 or more points the way we played.

u can blame it on the 3 when u live and die wit that it happens plus feed to Skeen more in the post, o and free throws the heck lol Brad is terrible from the line how u better shooting the 3 than u are shooting free throws weird!

He's tearin it up right now in his upgraded team. He's 4-6 from the field, 6 boards, 1 steal, and 4 blocked shots at the half....

at least one floridian is having a good night

The only inconsistency that worries me is actually fairly consistently mediocre: free throw shooting. Everything else that we are doing shows a work in progress.

Not having an effective rotation at the end of the press is something that can be coached. Giving up rebounds to teams twice your size happens. FG% go up and down over the course of a season.

How you shoot your free throws at the beginning of the year, generally reflects how you shoot at the end of the year. The time for learning to shoot free throws is the off season.

How do you get a team full of good free throw shooters? Recruit good free throw shooters.....

I agree completely. The opposition wouldn't be getting those dunks after breaking the press if Larry was back there. They wouldn't even try.

We shot poorly in the beginning on the road. No big surprise in college basketball. Unfortunately, USF started out hot and got some breaks. But we can turn things around pretty quick.

I was wondering how long it would take you guys to realize this team WILL miss LS1

L. SANDERS #8 C 33:30 5-10 0-0 4-5 -11 4 6 10 0 3 2 0 8 0 14 = AMAZING KID!

Two of those 8 blocks resulted in 2 T's being called on Melo (ejected) after LS swatted a couple of his shots in the 1st half.
