What should be the intro song this year? It's been Requiem for a Dream and Get Up the last two years.

I'd personally go with the Clint Mansell remix of Requiem for a Dream again. I feel like it gets the crowd pretty hyped.

most anything is going to be better than 'get up'

Carl Orff: Carmina Burana & TI: Takers or Wiz Khalifa: Black and Yellow (gotta go with the ram colors and yes i know its black and GOLD not yellow 8-) )

I would love to see us do something like VT football with enter Sandman! Don't really care what the music is (but its gotta rock). A loud ruckus and repetitive opening expected by visitors when they come into our arena. Can't wait for the season to get started.

I agree. We should use the song from Maynor's senior year. That "Get Up" crap did not hype the crowd up.. in fact it made me want to head to concessions lol.

That was probably the goal all along. There is a huge markup on that popcorn. I vote to keep it the same as well.

I agree about building tradition, my only problem with that song in particular is it's every other teams tradition as well. I think once they went back to that song last year it didn't seem to have the same effect as it did with Eric on the squad. (love when the band plays it though).

And I'll say it...I wish our production quality was better.

Example:

Notre Dame's version of that requiem intro: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ngr4YoCTaXY
v.
VCU's: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zl_3_SpZhLE

We have an extremely talented film community in Richmond AND at VCU, personally I wouldn't mind seeing a little more time spent on that video than throwing a couple of highlight clips to some music, with some poorly done green screen added in.

Love the athletic department, but that's just one area where I would hope they improve.

+1 Natty.

I honestly feel the videos leave a good amount to be desired. Assuming it has something to do with the lack of resources. Looking at that ND intro is night and day compared to ours. However I'm sure the big-time money their football program brings in as well as Big East revenue sharing has something to do with that as well.

I hope we can step it up soon though. Those are the kinds of things that separate big time programs from the pretenders as far as game-day atmosphere. Not a huge deal, but definitely something nice to have if we can get it done affordably.

Holy crap, Notre Dame's timing of the slow and fast motion clips with the original Lux Aeterna from Requiem. gave me goosebumps. Then they lept into O Fortuna, and I thought "wow, back to back epic music."

Then they went with some bs remix of O Fortuna with "he hate me now" and I WTFed.

If we like the Requiem for a Tower theme then we should keep it. I would prefer letting the band play it live though through intros (we've got the best band in the country, why not feature them more?).

If not then I would go with anything by Immediate Music http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2W0Oqp2_ ... re=related

As far as the video goes, why not look into seeing what our students can produce? I'm betting it's pretty good (or we can always contract out RamNation).
