Is there a guy this team will look to?

I guess it's pretty similar to last year really, but I'm just wondering who this team looks to in the clutch...especially a last shot situation to win it. Obviously Joey is comes in as the unquestioned leader, but I was really impressed with Skeen's aggressiveness and "fire" last year. I think his numbers are gonna blow up and I think our offense is going to be more comfortable with him scoring in the paint than they were with Larry last year. Everyone has always just known Brad can make that big play, and I wonder if in his Jr. season, he steps up as the leader of this team but the end of this thing.

Gonna be interesting.

Hey, Boo boo, we need a play. But he will already know that. It's his team.

If there's a last second shot to be taken I want Brad or Rozell taking it, unless Ed is gonna take it to the rack and yoke on somebody's dome ala the W&M game. I think Theus has a chance to be a big-time late game player too with his ability to get anywhere on the floor at will and create his own shot, but i doubt he'll get that chance unless Joey is in foul trouble or playing professionally somewhere.

Depends on situation, but if Skeen can be dominant on the post you can play inside out where he either gets a shot or we can kick for Brandon, Joey or Brad to get an open shot.

Ed can slash any defense, and that is one of the things I love about him! Hopefully those finger rolls fall this year and not roll ever so softly off the rim!

It has to be Brad. His height and now his build allow him to post up and take it inside, plus his outside shooting ability is very good. As a 2 year starter he's very experienced and has shown progression every year. He's already hit big shots (remember UR at UR?). He could be a 14 and 7 sort of guy as a jr and an 18 and 8 sort of guy as a sr.

After Brad it has to be Jamie. Similar story to Brad in terms of ability, but clearly with more of an inside presence.

Joey would be my 3rd, but this team needs him to distribute more than ever with the scoring potential we have in place.

Ed could be a candidate at times, but his development has grown steadily as opposed to by leaps and bounds. Just not sure if he goes from where he was last year to being "the man" this year.

Still, Brad, Joey, Jamie and Ed can kill you in a number of ways and it's a nice problem to have.

Personally Natty, I think they will look to God for guidance....(no offense :))

In all seriousness, I think in crunch time we have several guys to lean on. Our guards are SICK this year, Boo Boo, Brandon, Ed and Brad (if you consider him a guard). And on top of that we have Skeen and hopefully Veal proves to be a player! I don't think we have to look to one guy. Joey will be the floor general and we will be able to go with the hot hand.

One one side I say Joey because he is the PG and will probably have the ball down the stretch

but I still think we will go as far as Brad takes us. Dude has the body to power some guys down and the speed to get around the ones he cant power down

I agree Brad most likely. However, I'd bet it wont be established until we enter league play.

Coach Smart

or Joey...
or Brad...
or Skeen...
or Broz...
or Ed...
or Tobey...
or Darius...
...I'm looking at the whole darn team as 'the guy'! 8-)

This team may be one of the most volatile I can recall in years relative to going into a season with high hopes based on reason. With the talents and additional year of experience this season from the trifecto of Skeen inside, Joey's play making and Burgess' combo of strength and shooting...I think we have the spread of "go to" leadership required to be more than a pretender.

Who knows what will develop, but throw in another year with good coaches and some young up-and-coming depth and we'd have to be in a coma not to be excited.
