I must say I am surprised that yet another NorthEastern alum has made an NBA roster. Looks like Janning made it over Zabian Dowdell no less. I say this with the utmost humility. You guys were correct, I was wrong, Janning has what it takes.

By the way, can someone explain how this happened. He was a good player but I didn't see NBA. If Willie Taylor, Dominic Jones, and Nick couldn't make it how did this happen.

I didn't even think Janning was the best player at NU. I thought that honor belonged to the their present pg Chaison Allen.

In any event, the kid did it I am here to ingest my serving of crow!

I always felt like Janning had it in him. Great shooter, ball handling, but most of all high-energy and aggressive for 40 minutes.

He has an increbibly high basketball IQ and is VERY VERY smart with the ball. He's also clutch, whenever he was playing us and he put up a shot in a big situation you could forget about it. He's tough and I'm happy for him. I can't think of a bad thing to say about the guy.

I would see Janning being a solid supporting player similar to how JJ Reddick has developed. Games are somewhat similar, although I would say Janning drives the lane a bit better. Reddick's Duke pedigree just put him a bit further out on his development curve coming out of school than Janning, but I would have to say he does have potential.

Now that he's out of our hair and an "ambassador" for the CAA - good luck "Beav".

First I'm super happy for matt as he is about as genuine a guy as it gets. Despite being the best player on the team always treated us media guys with respect.

I'll say this and I'm not the only NU person that feels this way: I think matt was limited by the flex. We were so technically sound at it that it didn't allow him to run a bit more and emphasize his strengths. I mean I know it was summer league but he dropped 20+ in multiple games. When we allowed him to run a bit more(syracuse where he dropped a career high 34) he was a bit more successful personally but Matt being a team guy knew that running the flex would make our team better.

Bill's heard the criticism of the flex and I think has tactfully acknowledged that this year's team will run a bit more. I'll be intrigued to see what he does with it. Regardless big time congrats to matt. I would also say check out this photo below of janning and JJB at the suns mauves preseason game.

I never really took a stand on this one way or the other, but it doesn't surprise me that he made an NBA team. He has good height for a two guard, he can obviously shoot, he's smart on the court, etc. He definitely needs to get on the biscuit and gravy diet though or he won't last long.
