Jeff Capel headed to Missouri to assist Frank Haith?

That's interesting. The sports talk radio today was talking about Capel being a candidate for the Miami job.

I guess the thought is to spend a year as an assistant since there aren't many desirable gigs open right now (I'm assuming being an assistant doesn't impact the money owed by OK) and hold tight until next spring to see if a good job becomes available that may be a good fit for him. What's ironic is Miami was reportedly interested in Capel before they settled on Haith.

jeff was in miami interviewing for that job at a time that i happened to also be there. i was reading about it in the local paper. Jeff said he has not heard from Frank and wishes frank success at mizzou but that he is not going to be on that staff. He needs to get back to his roots in acc country. he can get miami back to making an ncaa run every year if they give him a shot. they have the beast reggie johnson that we recruited (can you imagine him on the glass this year with jamie up front) - we would have killed teams inside !

Keep in mind, I believe we signed Burgess after missing out on Johnson.
