He has to try and get into the lane on occasion, but he has to do it when there's an opening. He can't force it. In addition, he has to be looking to pass first and guys have to be aware and move to get the ball. You can't have a point guard who never penetrates and you can't have guys standing around hoping they'll get an open jump shot all the time.

Really glad that Joey hit that shot. This is a good sign for us, and good for his confidence.
We don't need Joey to score as much as last year, but he's got to be able to contribute in this regard. In some games/matchups he's going to have less opportunities than others. He's not the type of player who can create for himself. I think that he's learning this and not to force things. He's really played better lately than he did during that stretch before Christmas.
