Joey's pro prospects

Just gonna throw this out there:

I've recently heard two different people make reference to Joey's pro-future, scouts opinions on Joey's development as a passer, etc.

Does anyone have anything more tangible to add than that from any scouting websites, etc? On the surface, it'd appear to be a bit of a stretch. But he's a classic over-achiever, and his assist to turnover ratio continues to impress. If he were to finish in the top 5 in assists nationally this year and repeat that as a senior....maybe?

Thoughts?

depends what you mean by pro.

i absolutely think he can go overseas and play. no doubt.

nba, zero chance. joey is a (very) poor mans jose-juan barea, and not even remotely close to where barea was as a junior.

That more or less echoes my thoughts. I think Jose Juan Barea is a pretty good comparison.

Not the NBA. He will make a ton of money in Europe I would think if he keeps up his strong play though. He's a heck of a player and I'm glad he stayed.

J-Rod's a nice player but he's not a pro in the NBA sense. Now people said the same thing about JJB but JJB was a far better player and far more consistent then J-rod has ever been.

JJB dominated both the CAA and AE. I'm still shocked he won POY his only year in the league.

I'm sure some poster on here can find you something. I mean it's like the bracketologies that people keep finding. When some guy named Andy Cox puts together a field of 65 from his basement, he's a genius and an authority on college basketball. However, when Andy Katz and Joe Lunardi have us out of the dance, they know nothing. Nevermind they work for ESPN and make a living doing this.

the whole "i'm the only one on here who has no vcu bias" shtick is old.

while mildly amusing at first, it is old. my suggestion is to find a new gimmick.

My suggestion would be to let the man make his point, because he makes a good one. There are some on here who see things more clearly than others. As to who those folks are, we can debate that. But there is no debating that there are those who have a hard time removing their black and gold lenses.

I suppose I left the question in this thread too open-ended, much like with various bracket predictions recently posted on these boards there is surely someone somewhere in some basement with an opinion on something that one could cite here as the gospel. Specifically to this thread, based on something I heard recently I was curious if any reputable scouting website has ever even referenced our point guard. And it would appear that the answer, so far, is no.

The very idea of Joey in the NBA is ridiculous. He's a great player for us and I think one of the top point guards in the CAA. NBA material he is not...it's too ludicrous to even think about.

He will be making plenty of money overseas and should have a long and successful career there. He has done a great job at VCU and though he has been under-appreciated in the past, I'm sure most all VCU fans understand his value to this team now.

i don't want to debate that because i realize that there will always be biased, unreasonable fans with any team. you and this other kid have brought this point up in virtually every thread for the past two or so weeks. it's as if a biased opinion toward one's team is a totally new concept to you two.

we get it. you feel as if you see things more clearly than others. point made. it's old.

Just because a scout said that he is playing better than any one else on the team I don't think that should be taken to mean that he will play in the NBA. Based on your latest reply it seems like you brought this topic up with a bit of a hidden agenda. He doesn't have to be listed on a scouting website to be a great player for the VCU Rams. I do agree with just about everyone else that he can play professional ball somewhere and make a lot of money if that is what he chooses to do.

Someone went fishing this morning, but couldn't get the fishys he tried to rile up to bite!!! :o :o

Joey will prally go slightly lower than larry in next year's draft...so say 4th or 5th pick overall

And Rudy wouldn't play at Notre Dame....I'm not saying he does but until someone on this board works for an NBA team I'm not going to predict his future.

Let the man live his dream while all of you hide behind a keyboard.
