Jordan Burgess, Bishop O’Connell, 2011: Bishop O’Connell struggled mightily against St. Benedict’s and its pressure defense throughout the game, but Burgess was a bright spot. He was able to rack up plenty of transition lay-ups and also was active around the basket despite his size. He is a tough rebounder who can get put-backs and second chances. His outside shot needs work, but he can get into the mid-range and also score with his back to the basket. He had a nice catch in the post, leading to a jump hook. Burgess finished with 20 points and eight rebounds.
Burgess has offers from VCU, George Mason, Delaware and Richmond, with interest from Old Dominion, Towson and other CAA schools. However, he did say that he’s “trying to get to the Big East.”

Following up his last comment, I'm assuming the odds of him landing at VCU are not that great. If he does, would that be the first time two brothers could be sharing the floor in the program's history?

I wouldn't be shocked at all if he ended up here. You can see that Brad loves it here, and his parents are always in the stands with a smile on their faces. Good people! COME ON JORDAN!

Yeah, who doesn't want to get into the Big East. I would worry more about how we stack up with the other CAA schools who are after him. I think we stack up quite well against those guys however some of the others have been on him for quite some time so it is no slam dunk. It would be cool for him and Bradford to be able to play together though.

While VCU has a huge game tomorrow night, O'Connell hosts DeMatha in a huge game of their own. Anyone from up my way gonna go check that one out or is everyone glued to their computer screens tomorrow night?

VCU has had 1 set of brothers to play on the same team- although it was only for a brief period. That would be the Shropshire brothers, Greg & Bobby, both of whom suited up for the RAMS in the mid-80's. Greg, the older brother, was certainly not a star, nor was he a starter. But his career here was more notable than younger brother Bobby's. I believe the Shropshire boys were from the Fort Worth area of Texas.

It would be cool to see another set of Brothers playing for the RAMS.

Thanks for the info Rambo. Jordan would be a nice addition to the VCU family for sure.
