I just received this email:

Hi Greg -

Thanks for your email. We have elected to offer all 6 VCU games from this year's tournament on DVD. The games will be sold separately for $24.99/each + $3 shipping or the entire set of 6 games on 6 DVDs for $119.99 + $18 shipping (All DVDs are $3 shipping each due to on-demand production - we do NOT carry inventory).

These games will be available for pre-order on www.ncaaondemand.com next week and will begin to ship 6/1/11.

If you could spread the word on this via the www.vcuramnation.com forum that would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

Are they going to be the same horrible quality that the Duke vs VCU game was?

If they can ensure that the quality will be better this time then I'm all for it.

I've sent these questions to the guy. Let you know his response soon.

Here's what I got:

DVDs will be available for as long as the site operates. Unforunatley, we do not have the ability for HD/Blu-ray DVDs so all our DVDs are 4:3 SD.

HDTV and blu ray are two different things.

No. The capabilities of bluray are slightly higher than you get through TV (1080p vs. 1080i), but that doesn't mean anything. Bluray disc is simply the medium that the HD recording would be encoded on. Bluray doesn't make anything more special or amazing.

You could save yourself $120, weeks of waiting, AND get the games in HD if you choose to download the darn things.

i fully understand that but I'd rather see 1080i/720p than 480i. At least give us something hd even if its not 1080p.
