some sites have him listed as 6'10"

Juvonte Reddic (6-10, 215) C
2010, Winston-Salem, N.C. / Quality Education Academy
Reddic played with great energy as he dunked from set plays, drop-off passes and over smaller defenders in one on one post ups. He ran the floor and rebounded on both ends. Reddic even displayed good ballhandling ability in the open court, going behind his back before outletting on one occasion. He was tough to box out because of his relentless pursuit of the ball as he controlled the glass in his area. Reddic also used his great athletic ability and mobility to block shots. Reddic made good decisions with the ball when doubled in the post with pin-point passing to an open teammate. Defensively, Reddic can defend both post positions and even a small forward in an emergency switch. He can drive from the high post area and hit the 12-15 footer with time and space. Reddic is still learning on the job and has great upside, but he is definitely one of the best unsigned players in the 2010 class.

Coach Smart mentioned on his radio show that he went to NC to watch a recruit play the day after the Hofstra game. Did he play that night? Maybe he was the big recruit in attendance last week as well.

Good find, GetSmart!

It'd be a breath of fresh air to see Coach bring in a "big"...

Score one for VCU Finance 2008. Coach Smart said on his 1/14/10 radio show that he was recruiting in Raleigh on Wednesday 1/13/10. Juvonte was playing Word of God in Raleigh the night of 1/13/10. It only took us 2 weeks to figure it out. But hey we are hot on the recruiting trail with Coach Smart

SLEEPERS WAKING UP: QEA’S JUVONTE REDDIC & CHARLES MCKINNEY

http://w3.nbebasketball.com/2010/01/26/ ... -mckinney/

Quality Education Academy (NC) is so stacked another scout and I were trying to figure out how many juniors they had that should be high-major players — we settled on at least four and possibly five.

But I want to focus on QEA’s most underrated prospects, senior big Juvonte Reddic (6′10″) and junior guard Charles McKinney (6′4″). Both are surprisingly under-recruited right now but I’ll be shocked if things stay that way.

He was also completely candid when asked about his offers up to this point. “VCU, Georgetown, James Madison and Oral Roberts,” said Reddic.

Reddic could be a steal as a Spring-time addition for a BCS school. Or he could go mid-major and beat a lot of them throughout his college career. His recruitment will be one we’ll follow closely.

Digger Phelps was giving his recipe for getting to and penetrating the tournament...3 things.
A quality guard, an athletic wing player, and a quality center.

If we could land a quality big for the 2010 class we'd have that equation with Brandenburg, and McCarter.

On paper we might have the equation, but players hardly ever work in recruiting classes entirely as they are presented on paper. Hard to say.

Perhaps our best chance to really make a name for our ourselves is if Larry stays for next year. ODU would lose Lee and others, NU would lose Janning, Ogjoubo, Adako and Bataille and William and Mary would lose Schneider and others. On the other hand, we'd have a seasoned team with Larry in the middle.

Man, Digger when out on a limb there.

Is this person related to JJ Reddic who played at Duke...I am most likely mis-spelling his name but the thought crossed my mind that they could be related.

not to mention the 6 4 white guy and the 6 10 black guy, but i guess i could see how some would see the family resemblance.

I didn't think they were related...but just threw it out there....I didn't open the links about this recruit...I guess it would have been obvious if I had.
